INTRODUCTION
FOOD SAFETY AND STANDARD AUTHORITY OF INDIA is a legal body set up under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI has been settled under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, which is a centralized act related to food safety and regulation in India.
Food Safety and Standard authority were formed in August 2011 which is under the judiciary of India. The chairperson is RITA TEAOTIA. The mean office of the Food Safety And Standard Authority of India is in New Delhi.
FSSAI
Food Safety and Standard Authority of India is an Indian-based authorization that is under the control of the government of India.
FSSAI is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the rule and command of food safety.
The Food Safety And Standard Authority of India is headed by a non-executive Chairperson, appointed by the Central Government, either holding or has held the position of not below the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.
FSSAI LICENCE
FSSAI registration or license is compulsory for all types of food business operators in India whether they are transporters, distributors, producers, or caterers, etc. There are 3 types of registration available depending upon the annual turnover and type of installation or business.
For example: Imagine you are going to start a new food business, how are you gonna satisfy the public that your food products are safe and healthy for them. How they are gonna believe in your product.
So.. you have to get a fssai license to make sure that your food quality is good, healthy, and safe for them. And also the fssai license helps you to establish your business in a good and successful way.
CONCLUSION
The food control safety measure is the requirement to link the gap between safe food and adulterated food. The food industry needs standards that are more flexible and which are also efficient in producing and marketing food and thus basically serving the consumers with a protective sheet.FSSAI’s role in food quality is important for smooth functioning.
